Treatment
for Digipak – Mission 808: Heads Will Roll.
Initial
Idea:
The initial
idea for our digipak is similar to the website, we want to keep the theme of
bright lights and the party scene which is highlighted throughout our video, in
our digipak as well. In order to keep this theme alive in our digipak, we are
going to use more unusual, colourful effects for our front cover, such as the
Andy Warhol effect, by splitting it into four section, with a face of the band
in each of the four sections, to make this more colourful and interesting we
are going to replace all the natural colours with bright, neon colours in order
to give it a ‘pop-art’ effect. We decided on this through much research on
different artistry styles and interesting images that we could incorporate into
our own piece of art. The text used on the album cover will be a sort of script
writing text, to give it more of an edge, and an unusual look to it. We decided
on this style, in order to stand out from other albums in stores, so that when
people are browsing through the music isle of a supermarket or digital store,
this album will catch their eye before any other. The back cover of the digipak
will just remain black, with the track listing and copyright rules in white
text that matches the front text style. We have decided on this as it contrasts
the front cover, and gives a slight difference to the rest of the theme, so
that it’s not too loud or over bearing.
Finally, the
insert within the digipak, will have the same front cover as the front album
cover, and a picture of the band together on the back. Inside we will include:
- Information on each track, when and where it was recorded, who wrote the song and produced the music.
- Images and snap shots of each track being made and produced.
- Images of behind the scenes when creating the videos.
- Lyrics to the two most popular songs ‘Heads Will Roll’ and ‘Crash’.
- A list of people responsible for producing and writing the songs
- Copyright details
